France has the fifth highest number of monkeypox cases in the world, with above 2,000 cases. More than 18 monkeypox vaccination centers have opened up in Paris, the epicenter of the outbreak in the country. France has requested over 8,000 vaccinations despite shortage of staff.
More than a thousand cases of monkeypox were recorded in Brazil. Most of them are recorded from Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Along with the US and Canada, Brazil is home to some of the highest affected countries in the Americas. The first case was documented on June 10.
The first reported case in the Netherlands was reported on May 21. Upon discovery, the authorities were making inquiries into its possible origin and carrying out mortality investigation. No fatalities have been reported at this point. Due to that, it is required that all cases be reported to the country's health care service.
Ontario (423) and Quebec (373) have the most confirmed cases in Canada. The virus that induces Monkeypox has been identified in Canada, and Canadian health agencies have recommended the use of Imvamune vaccine to protect against the signs.
The government has begun vaccination for the confirmed cases of Monkeypox. From the first case identified in May, the total number of cases in Portugal exceeded 600, with a majority of them in Lisbon and Tagus Valley region.
The first cases of monkeypox in Italy were detected in late May. After an investigation, Italian researchers found the first cases of monkeypox in Italy in two men who returned from the Canary Islands. The cases currently stand at 505.
